This was one of those lucky shots! I didn't even know that I had captured this ant, jaws open, ready to bite the bee in the rear end! Sometimes you don't see all that you have captured until you get your photos on the big screen. I have learned not to delete anything on location, and have been lucky on more than one occasion.
I thought that this was such a beautiful tree! I love all of the twists, textures and colors in the wood. I added the Orton effect to give it kind of a dreamy, soft look. The photograph below is the version without the special effect.
I spent a beautiful day in Wyoming along the Bear River Divide photographing the Cedar Trees. No mosquitoes, a light breeze, beautiful trees and wildflowers. Couldn't ask for a better day!
I couldn't resist posting one more photo of the Hosta leaves. I love the lines and color of the leaves, and this one still has one of the morning dew drops on the edge.
While trying to get some photos of this moth, I noticed my cat in the background keeping a watchful eye on its every move. It ended up being the image that I liked the most! Sometimes the best photos are the unplanned ones.
