More Flowers

I couldn't decide if I liked the black and white of this photo, or the color version, so I did one of each. Which one is your favorite?

Southern Utah Desert

The evening light is my favorite!

I think this little lizard was as interested in me, as I was in it. It just sat on this rock patiently while I took all of the pictures that I wanted. If you look close you can see the sand in its nostrils.

Steer's Head Flower

I love looking for this unique little flower in the spring. The two outer petals curve backwards to form the horns of a steer, while the two straight inner petals form the snout. They are one of the first wildflowers to bloom following the snowmelt. They grow in higher elevation, gravelly flats, and are very hard to spot unless you are looking for them. They are extremely small and grow very close to the ground, varying from pale pink to white in color.

Baby Colt

I love all of the baby animals in the spring! I thought that this baby colt was so cute laying in the dandilions.

Capital Reef Utah

What a beautiful place! It is a place full of color, texture, and grandure around every corner. I'll have to definitely go back! There was too much to see in just one trip.
